Urea offers hydration, exfoliation, protection & penetration. When urea is applied to the skin, it is able to penetrate into the stratum corneum to enhance water absorption. Hence, urea improves the ability of the skin to retain water, while simultaneously balancing adequate hydration. Urea assists with the removal of dead skin cells in the stratum corneum & will improve the water binding ability of the skin. At high concentrations, urea is a keratolytic and helps to loosen scaly, dead skin allowing for exfoliation and improve cellular turnover.

Shea Butter, is rich in fats that make it an excellent emollient and skin moisturising agent. Research has proven that shea butter has anti-inflammatory properties, it reduces redness of dry, cracked heels & feet. Shea butter also calms itchiness as well as relieving walking discomfort. It is rich in essential fatty acids, along with vitamins A and E, which are primarily known for maintaining your skin’s elasticity and suppleness.

Glycerin is a colorless and odorless liquid that comes from plant sources, it is a humectant, which means it has the property of attracting water to itself. It can attract water from the deeper skin layers or even the air in humid environments. Glycerin has been proven in a recent study to hydrate the outer layer of the skin (stratum corneum), improve skin barrier function and skin mechanical properties, provide protection against skin irritants & accelerate wound-healing processes.
